The Eagles scored 45 points – six points shy of the Hobbs record of 51 set in 1970 – to take a 75-29 lead at the half.
In the second quarter alone, Hobbs went 16-for-23 from the field, including 5-for-5 from 3-point range, 8-for-11 from the free-throw line, forced 14 turnovers and held Midland Christian to 11 points.
Nine different Hobbs players scored, led by Adrian Sanchez's 12 points on 4-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc on his way to eight 3-pointers on the night – the second-most in Hobbs history (Ervin Youmans set the record with nine against El Paso Bowie in 2004).
Yes, Sanchez outscored Midland Christian 12-11 in the quarter. In fact, Adrian Brown had 11 points for Hobbs to tie the Mustangs' output.
It took Hobbs 1:04 to score 10 points in the quarter, 3:34 to reach 20 points, 5:23 to reach 30 points and 7:26 to reach 40 points as it was capped by a 3-pointer by Dane Pannell at the buzzer to reach the 45-point mark for the period.

Hobbs/Las Cruces game rescheduled
In other Hobbs news, the Eagles' game that was canceled Friday against Las Cruces due to poor weather in the Las Cruces area closing roads and making it so the Bulldawgs couldn't get out of town has been rescheduled for Feb. 16 at Tasker Arena. Las Cruces was able to make to Clovis on Saturday, however, beating the Wildcats 71-58 at The Rock.
